How I Came to Be Here
Hey! I'm Maureen
I am an herb and nutrition enthusiast, Mama, and knowledge seeker.
I've spent several years in the natural products industry, and am a lifelong food lover. My food preference has been vegan since roughly 2009, and have been primarily gluten free since 2014.
I am Hapa and proud of it; half Filipino and half Irish-Scottish-Euro. I was raised in the outskirts of what you might call America - mostly on the island of Kaua'i in Hawaii, and also spent multiple years in Alaska and Guam. My husband and I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2016 from San Diego, California - the ever shifting seasons are absolutely gorgeous.
I am something of a hedgewitch, being drawn to herbalism, medicine, healing, and kitchen experimentation for as long as I can remember. I am someone who largely prefers the periphery, experimenting with the unknown, challenging preconceptions, and thriving in environments that challenge my creativity.
I currently reside in Eugene, Oregon with my husband Johnny, and toddler Johnny Onyx.
