Aloe + Chamomile Tummy Gummies

Aloe + Chamomile Tummy Gummies

Recipe:

1/4 cup aloe juice

1/4 water

1 tablespoon chamomile flowers or 2 bags of chamomile tea

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon agar agar powder

1 tablespoon maple syrup or agave

pinch of Turmeric powder

Directions:

Brew chamomile tea with water and chamomile flowers; strain. Mix together all ingredients thoroughly, including 1/4 cup chamomile tea, in a small pot or saucepan. On medium heat, whisk until the mixture develops a syrup-like consistency. Immediately after taking off of heat, spoon into silicone mold. I used a stainless steel teaspoon to fill an 18-cavity gemstone mold! They set up very quickly; about 20 minutes in the refrigerator.

About:

Aloe Vera is an incredibly soothing plant, particularly for gastrointestinal complaints. Chamomile calms the nervous system, but is also an anti-inflammatory, creating a wonderful synergy in an easy and fun to eat gummy! Turmeric adds an additional inflammation reducer, as well as adding a lovely color. You may sweeten them with an additional tablespoon of maple syrup or agave, should you feel the need for them to be more candy-like. I love keeping these in the fridge, in a bag or glass jar, as an excellent tummy soother!

*Please keep in mind that these are formulated for adults, not children.*
